Important Update Re: Coronavirus

State Music Camp’s response to the COVID-19 pandemic is being shaped by the latest advice from Australian health authorities.

We encourage all staff, students, families etc… to maintain good hygiene practices and not to attend camp when showing any COVID-19 symptoms. Thank you in advance for your co-operation as we seek to protect the health of all campers and SMC staff during our programs.

What is state music camp?

Non-residential camps for young orchestral musicians

State Music Camp is a non-residential camp for musicians in primary and secondary school. It hosts two camps each year: State Music Camp in the first week of July, State Music Camp North in the last week of September. The purpose of these camps is to provide students with an unrivalled opportunity to learn the delights and intricacies of orchestral music.

2024 will be our 62nd year

We estimate around 8,800 young musicians have enjoyed the State Music Camp experience since 1962. The 2024 camps will be special events where we welcome new and past players. Please invite your friends to join you next time!
