Conductor's Award

State Music Camp established an annual award at the Melbourne Conservatorium of Music at The University of Melbourne. The award is to support a young conductor to study the intricacies and demands of conducting. This is a permanently endowed award that provides financial support to assist a student who wants to advance their conducting knowledge and skills.

State Music Camp believes conducting is important because conductors are the central figure of musical ensembles. They teach, direct, inform and inspire young musicians. These are the elements that young musicians need as they nurture their love of orchestral music.
